Author: I used to live in Glasgow a few years back and I think that if you are looking for cosmopolitan city to live in then Glasgow is a fine place to consider. Things have changed a bit since I lived there but the following are a few reasons to look at this city for your new home.
Lots of Green Spaces
Glasgow holds one of those convoluted titles like the “most number of parks in a European city of less than two million inhabitants next to a river” or something. Whatever the exact title is you will find when you look to rent a flat in Glasgowthat few of them are very far from some sort of green space.
A Cosmopolitan Atmosphere
If you had mentioned a few years back that Glasgow was a cosmopolitan place to live then you would have got some strange looks. Even my departure didn’t reduce the percentage of red hair and freckles in the city by very much. Now it attracts people from all over the world and this is obvious from the restaurants and bars which have sprung up lately.
The Language
Don’t they speak English there? Well, yes and no. When you move to Glasgow it’s worth picking up a few new slang words to get you started in a pure “gallus” way. Actually, the good natured banter you will find here is sure to be one of the highlights of your time in the city.
