PEX tubing introduction

PEX was first introduced in 1930s. The first PEX was an irradiated extruded tube. The processing methods used at that time were very expensive. Variations of cross-linking methods existed, but none of them really delivered until 1974 when a silane-based process was patented. Is very sturdy under severe temperatures, chemical attack, creep formation, making PEX an excellent material for making tubes that are used to carry hot water and also other applications. PEX tubing systems have fewer joints and are easier to manage, which means that they are less expensive when compared to traditional copper pipe material. PEX can be also used for underground cold-water service piping. But PEX should not be used for above ground outdoor applications, since PEX is meant to be used at particular surface temperatures, which are basically some recommendation from the manufacturers. PEX is more economical than any other available piping systems and saves lot of money, since the installation is minimal and if you are thinking about redoing your basement piping in the near future, then PEX is a screaming choice for you. Usually there will be some expenses like buying a crimping tool, but other than that, the installation requires very few directional fittings. Home run PEX plumbing systems can significantly reduce the energy consumption of the home. Direct lines can be customized to suite the requirements, hence will further save the time required to wait for the hot water.
